Mudboots Family Photos – Schmidt

What can I say? The Schmidt family is definitively one of a kind.  Creativity, Fun and Music is part of their every day lives and Werner is a firm believer that the best way to learn is through play.

There family of 6, since we all know dogs are more than just dogs, sang me some stories as they showed me their neighborhood.

“Think of your family today and every day thereafter, don’t let the busy world of today keep you from showing how much you love and appreciate your family.”

Mudboots Wedding Clayton and Louise – Goose Hill Wedding and Functions

“I love you, not only for what you are, but for what I am when I am with you. I love you, not only for what you have made of yourself but for what you are making of me.” Roy Croft

On this very special day Louise and Clayton not only shed tears of joy but so many of there guests also could not help brushing away a tear.  Yellow was the perfect colour to illustrated the joy and happiness these two people bring in each others life. In front of God they made a promise. The bush church at Goose Hill in Bloemfontein provided a cool place in the heat of Bloemfontein making you feel like your in a private little spot in the forest. Thank you for allowing me to capture your wedding, you are both beautiful inside and out.

We leave high school with this mindset that we have to know where we are heading. That you need to know exactly what you want in life. You have to make this big decisions ? What should I study, where should I study, should I study? The truth is, very few grade 12’s know what they want and where they are heading. It’s ok to start studying and then change your direction. Expecting one to know what you want to be after only experiencing the little you have is ridiculous anyway.

I studied law, I have know idea why. I didn’t know you could be a photographer or graphic designer. I was sent to a career councilor at a University without that options and he never put them forward as option. In fact if I followed his advice I would have studied to be a doctor, would have been completely “groced out” by guts and stuff and though I am a other failure. My point is, not knowing where your heading is ok, just carry on… you will get where you need to be.

Couple Shoot: The story of Louise and Clyton

“I could not tell you if I loved you the first moment I saw you, or if it was the second or third or fourth. But I remember the first moment I looked at you walking toward me and realized that somehow the rest of the world seemed to vanish when I was with you.”
― Cassandra Clare, Clockwork Prince

Louise and Clyton is one of those couples that you can just see belong with each other. Despite the out of season windy weather I had a great time capturing there love story.

“They say a good love is one that sits you down, gives you a drink of water, and pats you on top of the head. But I say a good love is one that casts you into the wind, sets you ablaze, makes you burn through the skies and ignite the night like a phoenix; the kind that cuts you loose like a wildfire and you can’t stop running simply because you keep on burning everything that you touch! I say that’s a good love; one that burns and flies, and you run with it!”

Mudboots Wedding Jacques & Hannelie

“When there is love in a marriage, there is harmony in the home; when there is harmony in the home, there is contentment in the community; when there is contentment in the community, there is prosperity in the nation; when there is prosperity in the nation, there is peace in the world.”

-Chinese Proverb

What an absolutely wonderful day. There was rain but that is what make Bloemfontein so beautiful this time of year. We have this amazing way of getting rain. There will be just enough time in between showers to get amazing photos.  I was so excited to hear that Hannelie and Jacques went with purple as one of their wedding colors. Purple is one of those colors I just love no matter where, it just seem to work.

They opted for a bit of a nontraditional way of doing things. We took some couple photos before the wedding, this is fast becoming a trend and one I would definitely recommend.  The rainy weather was a bit annoying not really letting us use the garden at Dursley manor as much as I wanted but luckily the Manor also have a very beautiful interior. Even with the time and weather constrained I captured some beautiful moments just proving how important the engagement shoot is. There is just no time to first get comfortable with your photographer at your wedding.

“They say, ‘It is better to have loved and lost than to never have loved at all.’ I say, ‘It is better to love and when you get discouraged, love some more, and never lose your love at all.”

Couple Photos Wynand & Mareli

Love is the stranges thing. It can make the weakest person strong, and the strongest person weak.

Wynand en Mareli are an awesome couple. We took to some abandoned buildings in Bloemfontein to capture there love. We got some real personal photos using Wynand’s own ghitaar that he brought to the shoot. They were so fun and playful game for anything. We played around with some props, trying different poses and creating stories.

“What I am telling you is that you do not need to know to love, and it is right that you feel it all in any moment. And it is right that you see it through–that you are amazed, then curious, then belligerent, then heartbroken, then numb. You have the right to all of it.” ― Ta-Nehisi Coates

Wedding Vlok en Mariska – ALodge Bloemfontein

Vlok en Mariska Human got married March 2014 in Bloemfontein. Mudboots Creative Art and Photography had the honour of capturing the special day. Mudboots also created all of there wedding stationery. This  included menu, table numbers etc. Definitely a busy day. As my Mariska is also my sister, I was trying to be a bridesmaid and photographer all in one. Luckily Marlia, my second shooter did a wonderful job helping to capture those shots that I needed to be in. As well as some amazing behind the scene shots. While the ceremony was on a gaggle of geese walked by that turned out to be one of my favorite photos of the day.

The day started at Shawu Lodge. A venue conveniently situated in the center of Bloemfontein. Shawu Lodge provided a beautiful setting with large room, beautiful interiors, stairs as well as picture perfect outdoor areas. A venue I would definitely recommend to any Bride. We then moved on to A-Lodge. The A-Lodge provided the perfect venue for the outdoor ceremony while also having the perfect setting for the wedding reception.

Thier Turquoises, Black and silver complimented the White perfectly. A colour choice I definitively had a say in.
